Permitting & Compliance

The Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, California Fish and Game Code, and other federal and state laws are designed to regulate activities affecting plants and wildlife and their habitats, State and Federal waters, and other natural resources. These regulations often prohibit activities adversely impacting these resources unless authorized by a permit from the designated regulatory agency.

Live Oak Associates specializes in preparing permit applications and securing agency permits, including, but not limited to:

  • Clean Water Act Section 404 nationwide and individual wetlands permits (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers)
  • Clean Water Act Section 401 water quality certifications (Regional Water Quality Control Board)
  • Sections 7 and 10(a) incidental take authorizations and Habitat Conservation Plans (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service)
  • Incidental take permits (California Department of Fish and Wildlife)
  • Streambed and Lake Alteration Agreements (California Department of Fish and Wildlife)

Compliance with permits is also another facet of the permitting process that Live Oak Associates specializes in.  Services related to compliance with the above permits and Construction General Permits include mitigation planning and monitoring, construction and stormwater monitoring, environmental training, and expert testimony.
