Conservation & Restoration
Environmental documents and agency permits often require management of an on- or off-site mitigation area, conservation or restoration of a site, or contribution to a mitigation bank to mitigate the biological impacts of a project. We have navigated numerous projects through the mitigation phase, assisting with the preparation of various types of natural resource management and mitigation plans, participating in restoration efforts, and monitoring mitigation areas for compliance with the governing permits and plans. Our mitigation experience includes projects involving impacts to wetlands, vernal pool and riverine systems, and endangered and threatened species.
We have also prepared mitigation banks in various California counties to provide mitigation credits to local developers. The preparation of these mitigation banks generally occurs in consultation with state and federal resource agencies, and involves both the baseline studies necessary to document the biotic resources present and the preparation of a habitat management plan that maximizes the credit available for sale.
